I stopped in to my Tripod site today.

Am a little behind the times with how to use the various tools and blog options.

So this is my chance to "wet my toes" via a post (0r 2).

 

After dinner, I'll get a little more serious about updating the eexisting pages from my original webiste -- which started in 1996. It has gone through many changes of the decades/years.

Even so, I want to keep it active, and useable whatever I might adapt it to present.

2020 - Hindsites?

Tis the year for "20/20" recitations -- and impersonations of Barbara Walters...among others.

This site is (kin to) one of the longest active online accounts I signed up for. The account was begun in 1996 (Summer) -- This blog was establishe in 2006.

Yes, I plan on updating it periodically!

Keeping up of with 'web turf' get confusing with older/newer computers, and access from 5-7 devices, via the web.

My goal for 2020? Sort out this "glorious mess" to where I know better what exactly I have created, if it is active, and if it needs to be edited or REMOVED from the internet.

 Tools to help in this task?

1. drive.google.com 

2. google search results

3. Text editor

4. massive stack of older 'log books' from my home office. 

5. colored pens

6. at least three devices (laptop, and two phones) -- so I can query for updates on email accounts, as well as get email/access information from older accounts. 

7. a quiet time, when not researching prices for books or comics.

8. plenty of soda(s) within reach.

  Todays' progress?

Very little -- one account has been "renewed" for Rootsweb.com ((GEDCOM was also uploaded))  -- detaIls in my journal.

Yes...may I help clear your confusion?

I am sitting in a room that has a good metal roof, it IS raining.

No, I am not in-practice with my typing skills.

Maybe I should brush up on my 'spelling and speed' with some typing exercises...but not tonight.

I have Rolling Rock (green bottle) beer waiting for me to take a break from this post so I can chug it down, and call the night "done."

I guess this new set-up on Tripod is going to be easier to learn than I expected it to be.

Now if I can just get my older pages (downloaded) to where I can see if I need to "bomb" them and start from scratch -- like the welcoming page suggest when I log-in.

 I will keep you posted, when I decide the outcome.
